Hello everyone,

As we prepare to submit information to the Legislature about State Library work in 2021-2022, I’ve been delving into 2022 Ready to Read data you submitted. I’m so happy to share a couple key statistics with you:

You all served 56, 355 kids ages 0-6 in Early Literacy Ready to Read programming, and you served 184, 200 youth ages 0-14 in your Ready to Read Summer programs. Additionally, for every Ready to Read dollar libraries received, you leveraged $3.16 in local funding – which shows how far libraries can stretch their dollars!  So this is a shoutout to all of you for being extremely skilled at building on the resources you have and also for turning in your reports, we certainly appreciate it. 😊

And there’s more! In honor of this week’s Martin Luther King, Jr Day – I also wanted to shoutout some teens at Cedar Mill<https://www.facebook.com/CedarMillLibraries/posts/pfbid0E5fAfV4EhUjqu3HmMZofKuiCrcFRDodxspYVAgqpDQutgPL88cnLnuYiFZ8ej6fil> this week for helping clean library shelves as an act of service. I know you are all grateful for your volunteers and we certainly are over here, too.
