Good Afternoon,

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, in partnership with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and Familias en Acción, is presenting a half-day convening on community health workers on Friday, June 23, 2023, from 10:00 AM - noon ET.

The convening will shine a light on the contributions and value of community health workers. OHSU and Familias en Acción are developing a pilot program that seeks to make the case that employers will benefit from the provision of community health worker services as a health benefit to their employees. The mission of the New York Federal Reserve is to advance an economy that works for all segments of society. Accordingly, the New York Federal Reserve is eager to support research, such as this pilot program, that has the potential to give individuals and families an opportunity to participate more fully in and benefit from the fruits of the economy. We are also eager to support market mechanisms that enable such change.

Event speakers include:

  * Denise Octavia Smith, Executive Director, National Association of Community Health Workers
  * Shreya Kangovi, MD, MS, Associate Professor, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania
  * Morgan McDonald, Director of Population Health and Health Equity Leadership, Milbank Memorial Fund
  * Doug Wirth, President and CEO, Amida Care
  * Karen Moseley, President & CEO, Health Enhancement Research Organization
  * Steven Serra, MD, Executive Director, Physician Consulting, Aetna
  * Gia Rutledge, Associate Director of Health Equity, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
