I'd like to pass along a job posting that has opened at SAIF for a Sr. Research Analyst.

Here is the overview of the job:

We aren't your typical insurance company. So naturally, this is not your typical research analyst position.
For starters, you'll be working for a not-for-profit company whose goal and passion is to make Oregon the safest place to work. You'll perform high-level analytical functions that have a huge strategic and financial impact on our success.
You'll work with business partners throughout the organization-including finance, actuarial, marketing, claims, legislative, and safety and health services-to create data-based decisions around economic impacts, customer needs, and utilization trends.
Working individually and with the finance and actuarial staff, as well as other SAIF staff, you'll also conduct independent analysis of SAIF's strategies, operations, services, programs, policies, and data. You'll also need demonstrated knowledge of statistical processes and techniques used for determining causal relationships (that is, statistics experience).
Strong skills with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Access, are so crucial that we require them. Same is true with being able to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical audiences and staff, from assistants to executives. And some "typical" experience with property/casualty insurance claims as an adjuster, or in bill paying, or with an insurer, is a plus but not a must.
