Just wanted to share with you a new position that's opened up at OHCS for a FT Economist 3. There's some very exciting work with a new bill coming out of this past legislative session (HB 2003) and this position will be the key point on that work. The Housing Economist will create and run a methodology for regional housing needs analysis and partner with the Department of Land Conservation and Development to assist local governments in developing housing production strategies. The person in this position will have the opportunity to lead and manage a high-profile project that requires extensive knowledge of economic modeling, regional and local housing market conditions and trends, and local and state policies and regulations.

What we are looking for:
In this position, decision made will influence the ability of the agency to meet its objectives and obligations.

  *   Strong background in using accepted economic and statistical methods; Experience with economic modeling software
  *   Knowledge of public and private sources available for gathering and identifying economic and housing data.
  *   Experience with or knowledge of conducting local or regional housing needs assessments.
  *   Project management experience
  *   Effective verbal and written communication skills;
  *   Demonstrated commitment to embracing diversity and inclusion
  *   Ability to prioritize work to meet strict deadlines
  *   Ability to present economic analysis without bias
