The IVPP in Public Health is recruiting for an Injury Surveillance Research Analyst (Research Analyst 3 position) and due date for applying is 11/04/20


The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Injury and Violence Prevention (IVP) Section<https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/PreventionWellness/SafeLiving/Pages/Program-Information.aspx> in Portland, OR is recruiting for an Injury Surveillance Research Analyst to manage and disseminate non-fatal overdose, firearm injury,  suicide attempt data. The data, education, consultation and technical assistance IVP provides through our partnerships as well as our work with policy makers, is intended to reduce the economic, social, and personal burden due to injury in Oregon.

What will you do?
As the Injury Surveillance Research Analyst, you will contribute to public health injury surveillance initiatives within the Injury and Violence Prevention (IVP) section by managing and disseminating non-fatal overdose, firearm injury and intentional self-harm data from the ESSENCE syndromic surveillance system, designing and completing data quality assessments, and developing reports of ESSENCE data for internal and external stakeholders. This position also manages dissemination of injury surveillance data to stakeholders via presentations, data visualizations and reports. This position performs regular updates to online injury data dashboards from ESSENCE and other data sources and conducts process and outcome evaluation of injury surveillance initiatives.
