Greetings, Health Policy team! Hope everyone is having a nice, short week. We have some very exciting news to share on the hiring front.

We got approval to post and recruit for two permanent OPA4 positions (so far) this fall. These will both be open recruitments and we plan to do a "pooled" hiring process where we open both simultaneously and allow someone to apply for both at once, or to indicate their preference for one or the other. We expect the positions to post this week and will share the link to the posting as soon as it's available. Anyone within our team that has an interest in these positions is welcome and encouraged to apply. We also appreciate any help in getting the word out to friends and colleagues who you think could be a good fit. Amanda and Sarah are co-managing the hiring process, and both positions will sit under Amanda. Here are the details!

Waiver Policy Analyst:
This senior policy analyst position will be matrixed to the 1115 waiver team in the director's office in the near term. About half of their time will be focused on coordination and strategic support for HPA's various 1115 waiver touchpoints and policy leads (e.g. evaluation, community information exchange, YSHCN). They'll also serve as the cross-agency resource for policy development and alignment across all of the agency waiver workstreams, working with Steph as the policy lead. Long term, we expect this position to be our lead in ongoing waiver policy development and also a resource for related large scale policy development work (such as CCO procurement).

Child Health Policy Advisor:
This is the long awaited recruitment for the position that Laura vacated in early May. In the interim, we've been splitting the work between me and Remy, who is on rotation with us from the Division of Early Learning and Care. This Child Health Policy Advisor will lead the ongoing policy development and design of the Youth with Special Health Care Needs (YSHCN) waiver implementation, working closely with a soon-to-be hired YSHCN policy analyst at HSD, coordinate with Liz and the EPSDT team on ongoing policy development in children's health, and also working with cross agency teams around child health in education, early childhood, and child metrics.

Other positions
We are hopeful that we'll have at least one additional position, and possibly more, ready to hire in the coming months, including an OPA2 for legislative policy implementation, a Program Analyst 4 (PA4) for waiver community engagement, and positions for EPSDT and Basic Health Program. We'll let you know as soon as we have confirmation on any of these.
