CAMEO Topic -- Faster Spell Check
Intermediate

Hey, wouldn't you agree that no matter how well you type, there will be times when you misspell a word?

Of course you can...

1. Run Spellcheck and work through each correction, or
2. Manually fix the word by deleting and retyping it.

Those both work just fine.

OR, if you want to catch the misspelling instantly, on the fly, the fastest way is to right click on it ... and choose the correct word.

You don't even have to highlight the word, just move the pointer to hover anywhere over it, and right click.

That's it! It's fast. It's efficient. It works!

You can use this trick in many situations, such as...

· Word Documents
· Google Docs
· PowerPoint Slides (most text elements)
· Google Slides (most text elements)
· WordPress Pages

NOTE: In both Excel and G-Sheets, misspelled words do not have red lines under them. It is easy to miss an error! You need to run Spellcheck to verify that all the words are correct.

· In Excel, click on Review, Spelling
· In Google Sheets, you have to click on Tools, Spelling, Spell Check to run this feature.

Communication: Talking & Writing
Which is right: Good or Well?

Have you noticed how frequently people use the word "good" instead of "well" these days? If you listen carefully, you may be surprised.

Which is considered grammatically correct?

"No matter how good you type..."

"No matter how well you type..."

Here's the common rule of thumb on this topic...

Good is an adjective and well is an adverb.

An exception: when you're talking about health, well can be used as an adjective.

· Good modifies a person, place, or thing,
· Well modifies an action.

If you're having a good day, then your day is going well.
