[ACFR-contacts-news] FY 2022 Year-end Update

Hello ACFR Contacts,

I know many of you have been eagerly awaiting information about the FY 2022 Schedule of Key Dates, the annual Year-end Close Training, and the FY 2022 Agency Disclosures. I'd like to address what I'm able to with this email, but know I'm still working through some items associated with year-end. Of the three topics I've listed, I'll take each one in order below:


  1.  FY 2022 Schedule of Key Dates - I'm working on getting certainty on a few dates related to federal award reporting requirements, which tend to be driven by external factors.



  1.  Year-end Close Training - There will be no such training this year, meaning this is not a Gold Star event. There are two primary reasons for this decision: (1) SARS has multiple new people in new roles and my focus has been preparing the SARS unit for the ACFR season; and (2) the major implementation effort this fiscal year is GASB 87 which SARS has lead trainings on already (https://www.oregon.gov/das/Financial/Acctng/Pages/Training.aspx) and I know agencies are focused on getting those entries recorded. I recognize that GASB Statement Nos. 94 (P3s and APAs) and 96 (SBITA) are effective for FY 2023 and we'll provide trainings on those standards in early calendar year 2023.



Even though there is no Year-end Close Training, please know our objective of supporting agencies remains unchanged, and we're as available as we have always been for questions or concerns. When agencies have questions or concerns, we often discuss them as team and I, along with our new Senior Financial Reporting and Policy Analyst Brady Stutzman, are always more than willing to hop on a call with an agency and their SARS analyst. Please do not ever hesitate to reach out.


  1.  FY 2022 Agency Disclosures - These are being reviewed and we expect them to be available no later than the end of next week. Most will have no changes other than updating the year.
