[ACFR-contacts-news] Resolution of Statewide Travel Policy that was out-for-comment

Good morning ACFR Contacts,

Since I had shared this policy proposal change to OAM 40.10.00 Statewide Travel Policy on June 14 on this listserv, I wanted to follow up with the resolution. This information has also been shared on our Travel Policy News listserv. The change has been approved by State Chief Financial Officer Kate Nass, with only minor wording changes from what was proposed. The change will be effective August 1, 2024. However, knowing that there may be internal agency policies that need to be updated, we've posted the updated policy on our website as follows:

Since the Statewide Travel Policy that was effective January 1, 2024 remains through July 31, 2024, the new policy is only located in the link above, it is not yet incorporated into the actual OAM; that will occur on August 1.

Hello Travel Policy Contacts,

We've placed the Statewide Travel Policy out-for-comment based on a change proposed to paragraph 141 covering travel awards. The proposal is to allow travel awards earned on official state business to be available for personal use by considering them part of the official compensation package. The comment period closes on Thursday, June 27 and we'd very much appreciate agency feedback on this topic.
