[Answerland-summit] Fwd: info about the 2020 Support Staff Division conference

Hi team,

I spoke with Deanna Kohn of SSD and told her that we were looking at
options for piggybacking the OrRS with another conference.

The SSD  conference in 2020 is at Timberline Lodge, which I'm pretty sure
is beyond our price point. In addition, it was noted in our last meeting
that academic library staff are less likely to be able to attend a
conference in the summer. The SSD is a great partner to consider in the
future, but not a good fit for 2020.

Also, Deanna did encourage the Reference Round Table to sponsor a
presentation -- keep that in mind when they request submissions!

Hi there - here is the info about the SSD Conference.

Date: *Friday, July 24th, 2020*

Location: *Timberline Lodge*
There are some other less expensive hotel options nearby, plus camping or
cabins.

Time: *usually 8:00-4:00 or 4:30 *with breakfast and keynote first thing,
the first session starting at 10:00 or 10:30.
Last year there were 3 time slots for sessions: 10:30-11:45, 1:15-2:30, and
2:45-4:00 and sessions were 1 hour and 15 minutes each.

We plan for at least 2 session options in each time slot (having 3 options
is nice if we can get that many) plus our all-day Book Mending workshop.

We are going to have an *Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion theme* but we
haven't chosen a formal title yet. We are thinking of ways to tie it into
support staff as super-heroes.

Does that cover everything you wanted to know?
