Sadly, I'm not able to provide much of an update on the narcan session.

I last contacted Ellen from Project Red on June 11th to confirm a date and time for a July session.

To date, I have not received a response from her.

Life happens to us all sometimes, and I'm hopeful that she will be in touch at some point, but I think hosting her for the July session is not going to work out.

However...

While at ALA in Philly this past weekend, I spoke with some folks from an organization called Urban Librarians Unite (https://urbanlibrariansunite.org/).

One of the programs they run is the Library Worker Support Network:

"A series of peer-led support groups
made up of library workers which allow workers at all levels to offer and receive support from colleagues at other institutions who can empathize and understand the unique challenges associated with library work

The Library Worker Support Network is one of the first outcomes of the Urban Library Trauma Study released in 2022.
Researchers on that project found that many library workers felt alone in their experiences of abuse, harassment or secondary trauma."

They have people available to provide informational sessions promoting this network, said they would be very interested in doing a session with us, and I have their contact info.

If this seems like something the group feels may be of interest or benefit to Oregon Library workers, I'd be happy to reach out to them and get more details.

So sorry for the late notice but I need to be out this morning with a sick kid. I think we may be able to do our updates over email?

Mark, can you share an update about the Narcan program? If we’re aiming for July, we should probably start promotion as soon as possible.

My update for the immigration program in August is that I will send the presenters a description to edit/confirm next week. Then I can put those details up on the website and we can coordinate promotion. I’ll send out an email when all of that is ready!

Any other updates or topics we should check in on?
