We follow a similar process to access older data, so the proposed change should be workable.

Currently, ORS users can access performance data going back to the 2007-08 administration. If we continue to make data through 2007-08 available through the ORS, then in 2015-16, the ORS database will need to support nine years’ worth of data (2007-08 – 2015-16). AIR has raised the concern that database management issues increase as we add more data to the system. To mitigate this risk, AIR is proposing to adopt a new protocol to only display data looking back five years (including the current administration), archiving previous years’ data. For example, if approved, this would mean that in 2015-16, ORS users would be able to access data from 2011-12 through the current year (2015-16). Previous years’ data would still be available to districts through ODE’s system should districts need to reference data from 2010-11 or earlier.

Please provide feedback by COB this Thursday, July 3 by emailing Jordan Hermens (jordan.hermens at state.or.us).
