[Busmgrs] Upcoming Deadline for Obligating Ed Jobs Funds - September 30, 2012

Good afternoon,



I am writing to remind you the deadline for obligating funds under the Education Jobs Fund (Ed Jobs) program is September 30, 2012. I am sure that you are all already aware of these deadlines, but I wanted to make sure and send a friendly reminder.



As you know, local educational agencies must use Ed Jobs funds to pay for salaries and benefits of employees who provide educational and related services at the school level.  Any funds not obligated at this time may be used for new allowable obligations that occur on or before September 30, 2012, or for reimbursement for allowable expenditures that occurred on or after August 10, 2010 (the date of enactment of the Ed Jobs statute) and that were supported with general funds.



The attached spreadsheet lists those districts that still have remaining funds available as of September 12, 2012. As well, all claims for reimbursement must be submitted no later than November 14, 2012. Sub-grant recipients not adhering to this policy may be subject to the loss of some or all of the sub-grant funds.
