RE: IDEA Enhancement Grants & Timeline for IDEA Flow-Through Funds
I'm pleased to announce that the 2012-13 IDEA Enhancement Grants will be available in EGMS this October. The grants are flat funded for this year, meaning you will be receiving the same amount of funds as 2011-12. The enhancement grants are for activities which support RTI, PBIS, expanded SPR&I, determination issues, and other trainings or activities related to support of students with disabilities. The funds may not be used to purchase equipment or for existing payroll. Substitute costs for staff to attend trainings are allowable. No expenditures may be charged to these subgrants prior to 10/1/12 or subsequent to 9/30/13. The subgrants are not eligible for carryover. Sarah Drinkwater, the new Director of Monitoring, Systems, and Outcomes in the Office of Student Learning & Partnerships, will be the grant manager. Feel free to contact her at sarah.drinkwater at state.or.us<mailto:sarah.drinkwater at state.or.us> or 503.947.5634 if you have any questions regarding these grants.
ODE personnel are also preparing the first allocations of the 2012-13 IDEA Part B, Section 611 and IDEA Part B, Section 619 grants. Those awards will be available in EGMS by mid-October for the period 7/1/12 to 9/30/14. The second allocation will be made available in March 2013. Steve Smith is the grant manager for IDEA Part B, Section 611 funds and can be reached at steve.w.smith at state.or.us<mailto:steve.w.smith at state.or.us> or 503.947.5711. Alan Garland is the grant manager for IDEA Part B, Section 619 funds and can be reached at alan.garland at state.or.us<mailto:alan.garland at state.or.us> or 503.947.5759.
