We are recruiting for a permanent, full-time position with the Early Learning Division at the Oregon Department of Education in Salem, Oregon. This position is in unclassified executive service.

The primary purpose of this position is to function as administrative and operations leader of the organization. This position functions as lead, directs and coordinates operational activities associated with the office of The Early Learning Division. The Director of Business Operations leads the internal operations of the agency through the executive and administrative support staff and partners with the administrative services through Oregon Department of Education. This position is a member of the ELD senior leadership team and directs the development, interpretation, and implementation of statewide and agency policies and procedures, administrative rules and legislative concepts.

The Early Learning Division was established in July 2013 as part of the Department of Education by the 2013 Legislature. As part of the Governor's P-20 Education Initiative, the Early Learning Division is driving efforts to integrate and streamline existing state programs for at-risk children ages zero through six and ensure all children are ready to learn when they enter kindergarten.

The successful candidate will at a minimum have:

Four (4) years of management experience in a public or private organization which included responsibility for each of the following: a) development of program rules and policies; b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans; c) program evaluation; and d) budget preparation.
OR
Three (3) years of management experience in a public or private organization which included responsibility for each of the following: a) development of program rules and policies; b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans; c) program evaluation; and d) budget preparation, AND 45-48 quarter hours (30-32 semester hours) of graduate level coursework in management.

Compensation will consist of a competitive base salary plus the state's excellent benefits package.
