[Busmgrs] January 2016 Common School Fund Payment

Dear Business Managers,

The first Common School Fund payment of 2015-16 has been made. The payment information is posted here: http://www.ode.state.or.us/services/ssf/misc/2015-16-csf-by-district-january-1-16-16.pdf. The second payment will be made in July 2016.

At the end of the 2015 session, the Legislature requested the State Land Board to increase the distributions from the Common School Fund to get to $7.4 billion for schools. This will add about $16 million a year to the Common School Fund distribution. However, the State Land Board has not yet acted on that request. It is scheduled to be on the February agenda. If the State Land Board votes to approve the increased the distributions, the increase for 2015-16 will come in the July payment. The January payment is based on the regular level of distribution.
