[Busmgrs] Message from EGMS Coordinators

Dear Business Managers,

Please find below a message from our EGMS unit regarding some new requirements for EGMS. Please direct any questions to them.

Due to new Federal grant regulations we have made some changes in how EGMS operates. Because of the new regulations, we are required to notify our sub-recipients of all rules and restrictions attached to any given funding. Whenever a new or modified Subgrant Award Notification (SAN) is created, it will cause the Edit button to be inactive, or shown as grey. This new feature has been added to ensure that our recipients are aware of new awards, or changes to existing awards, prior to entering a claim and agreeing to the award requirements.

When you're in the EGMS claim menu, you may see one or more of the Edit buttons that are grey, or inactive. If you hover over the Edit button for a few seconds, a message will appear to tell you why it is unavailable. If the message says, "Read SAN Report" you'll need to navigate to the Reports menu to read the SAN. You can navigate to the SAN Report in two ways: 1) There is a link at the bottom of the claims page that says, "SAN Reports" which will take you to the SAN report page, or 2) From the main menu, select "Web - Reports", then "SAN Reports". If you click on the "Sub Grant" header twice, it will sort all of your notices with the newest on top. If you see a red, "NEW" spinner on the right side of this table, that icon indicates which reports your office has not opened and read. To open the report, click "See File". Please note: if you have pop-ups blocked you will need to allow pop-ups from EGMS or you won't be able to see the SAN. Most browsers have a message at the top or bottom of the window with an error message and options to allow once or permanently. Once you've opened the SAN Report, click on the EGMS icon (the Monster) to go back to the main menu to enter claims and you should see the subgrant's "Edit" button is active again. Again, you must open all SANs (new and modified) for any given sub grant to activate the Edit button.

If you hover over the button and see another message, such as "Past Final Claim Date" or "Contact Grant Manager", please contact your grant manager for further assistance.
