Good Afternoon

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. The 2017-18 High Cost Disability Grant Estimated payment has been posted to the web. Keep in mind this is an estimate.  I urge you to review and compare your data submitted in the 2018-19 estimate of membership for high cost disability (HCD) students with what was in the high cost grant collection this last March. It appears many districts are not submitting accurate estimates of what their HCD student count and costs will be.

I reached out to a few districts to review their data submitted in the 2018-19 estimate of membership for HCD students and costs. Some reported data does not match trend and this is just comparing last year's actual to this year's estimate.

The reason I say the estimates are wrong is the data shows a decline of 697 students and $15,613,458. It's hard for me to believe costs and HCD student enrollment is declining.
