Families; Sally Joyce, Umpqua Valley Disabilities Network; Cat Feral,

Start, Family Development Center; Kelly Southern, Jerry O*Sullivan
OPTIONS Counseling; Diane Pietrzak, DHS.

Minutes Approved: The November 17, 2010 meeting minutes were approved.
(There was no meeting in December, 2010.)

Treasurer*s Report: Dede Henderson provided an email with the balance
of the account at $8,764.58. This includes the deduction for the
donation to the Adoption Day Celebration.

Child Abuse Prevention Month Activities:

· Gillian will take the lead on asking the Douglas County
Commissioners to declare April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
· Diane will post the Child Abuse Prevention banners around
Roseburg for the month of April. Phoenix School, DHS and Healthy Start
want banners at their locations.
· Chamber After Hours? Kelly will ask Greg Henderson if this
is possible.
· The group present decided not to pursue a vigil or an agency
informational event this year.
· Elizabeth will lead and Diane will assist with public
relations for Child Abuse Prevention Month Activities. Elizabeth will
contact Kyle Bayly and Brian Prawitz for radio talk shows as well as
Spotlight on Douglas Couty.

Diane will contact Pam Knudson at Boys & Girls Club to see if the
Keystone Club might want to help CAPP develop a Facebook page. Will
also help compile the list of April events.

The Sixth Annual Celebrate Children * Wildlife Safari Event is planned
for April 30, 2011 from 11 am to 3 pm. Karin will prepare an electronic
flyer which will be distributed by the Commision on Children and
Families; DCECPC; and CAPP. CAPP approved up to $400 for printing costs
for the flyer that is sent home with all school aged children. (Motion
by Diane, Second by Sally, unanimously approved by all present.)

· Contributions are needed for door prize donations. Everyone
will help. We talked about seeking donations for children*s lessons
such as Bowling, Tennis, etc. Karin pointed out that we have
traditionally had door prizes for adults and children (two separate
groups.) Karin will email everyone a list of prior contributors. Please
keep Karin informed of any solicitations so that we don*t make duplicate
requests.
· Parking has been problematic in the past. Those present
agree that it would be beneficial to try to find a sponsor to shuttle
people from a parking lot to the Wildlife Safari. Two potential
partners are the Cow Creek Tribe and UTRANS. Diane agrees to contact
the Cow Creek Tribe and Cat will speak with Toby Notenboom at UTRANS.
