LOST FOOD DURING THE ICE STORM? SNAP REPLACEMENT!

SNAP REPLACEMENT REQUESTS MUST BE RECEIVED NO MORE THAN 10 DAYS AFTER LOSS OF FOOD!!!

Form to request replacement<https://www.oregon.gov/odhs/food/pages/snap-replacement.aspx#disaster> SNAP benefits is attached!

Requests for SNAP replacement can be taken over the phone or in person.
General things to know about replacement benefits:

  1.  The request must occur within ten days of the food spoilage or loss
     *   SNAP considers food spoiled after loss of refrigeration of 4 hours or more
  2.  Only the affidavit step needs to be completed to start the process. A list of lost food can be pended for.
  3.  Replacement benefits can be requested PRIOR to power being restored
     *   Example: Springfield resident has been without power since Sunday. They still have no power. They submit the request today, benefits can be reissued now, even without power being turned on.
  4.  Replacement benefits cannot exceed the SNAPS monthly allotment.
     *   Example: Jane receives $180 in SNAP monthly. She completes the replacement of benefits process and shows that she lost food valued at $400. Only $180 in replacement benefits will be issued.
     *   Example: Craig receives $200 on SNAP monthly. They complete the process and indicate that they lost food valued at $150. Only $150 will be issued.

Replacement Process

  1.  Oregonian completes a signed attestation or affidavit. The attestation can be on a piece of paper or can be on either the SNP-086 form in ONE by clicking on the "Generate Affidavit" button or the DHS 0349D available on the ODHS/OHA Publication and Forms website. A signature can be a wet signature or a verbal signature.  (This is all that is needed to begin the process)
  2.  To complete the process the following items are needed. If they are not submitted with the affidavit, the request for replacement benefits will be pended.
     *   Verification of the disaster or misfortune. Staff processing the affidavit will attempt to verify the power outage online. This will be sufficient in most cases.
     *   A list of lost food that includes: Name of food, location of food at the time of loss and price of food

RENT WELL CLASSES

Join Connected Lane County for Rent Well! Rent Well is a 15-hour virtual tenant education program that provides renters with the foundational tools and skills to become responsible, successful, and stable tenants. Connected Lane County hosts courses for youth ages 17 to 24.

Each session occurs online every Tuesday for six weeks from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

This website is intended to help those in our community seeking shelter either for themselves, or for someone else, know what shelters have beds available on a given night and what criteria there are for accessing those shelters.

Those accessing the site can filter through the shelters based on unique needs and be pointed in the direction of those shelters that best meet those needs.

Additionally, by clicking on the bed icons located on the embedded map, site visitors can see information about the shelters including pictures, intake information, what they can expect when accessing and other important details.

Please note that we do not currently have all shelters in Lane County participating on the page, but hope to have them added soon. We have asked participating shelters to update their available bed information a minimum of once a day but more frequently if they are able. The date and time of last update is located next to each shelter bed inventory.

People can now securely manage their medical, food, cash and child care benefits through the State of Oregon from the convenience of their mobile devices using the new Oregon ONE Mobile app. People first will need to apply for benefits online, in person at a local office or over the phone.
