SURJ<https://surj.org/chapter/surj-eugene/> has co-sponsored two workshops on Cultivating Belonging for local educators. These workshops will focus on cultivating belonging for all students and staff. Because these workshops complement each other, although not a requirement, it is recommended to attend both.

Offered by Robin Quirke of Rise Up Rooted (who, along with facilitation partner Drea, helped start the Me and White Supremacy groups that many of us participated in).

WHEN: January 10 and 17 from 4-6pm.

DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR CELEBRATIONS

H.O.N.E.Y.<https://facebook.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9f1bdea9644fc16ce08ca8aa7&id=de57e87198&e=a7d4903f59> Inc.'s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Fundraiser Dinner for the Wellness Program is an opportunity for our beloved community to come together to celebrate and honor the life and legacy of Dr. King over food, entertainment, song, dance, and fun!

We have an exciting show, Lady Bug will cater a delicious dinner, and we are delighted to have Dr. Johnny Lake give the keynote address.

This is a family friendly event, and all are welcome.

WHEN: Saturday Jan 13th, 5pm - 8pm
WHERE: Lane Events Center
COST: The MLK celebration has been in production since 1983 and the celebration is the largest fundraiser for H.O.N.E.Y. This year we are asking for a suggested donation of $50 per adult and $10 per youth (ages 11-17 and no cost for 10 and under). Your presence is more important so please know that you are welcome to come if you are unable to give a donation for your ticket, please register for ticket(s). The Center for Family Development is offering their popular Pregnancy and Early Postpartum Support Group on Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:30 PM, starting January 11th. This 6-week group supports individuals at any stage of the perinatal period.

Through the group, participants will connect with other individuals and receive guidance on:

* Stress management
* Healthy bonding
* Information about pregnancy and infant development
This group is FREE for all participants thanks to a grant from the Early Childhood Hub of Lane County and is open to all, whether a client of CFD or not.

POSITIVE SOLUTIONS PARENTING GROUP

The Center for Family Development is offering their popular Positive Solutions Parenting Group starting January 22nd from 6:00-8:00 PM. This on-line 7-week group is for parents with children ages 3-6 years.

The group focuses specifically on managing challenging behaviors using positive discipline strategies and proactive approaches to parenting. Session content covers information about understanding challenging behaviors, developing consistent and logical consequences, building positive relationships, implementing successful family routines, and teaching self-regulation and emotion regulation strategies to children. Parents may also receive a certificate of completion.
