The City of Eugene’s ordinance that caps rental application screening fees at $10 maximum per applicant won it's appeal and can be reinforced! Prior to the ordinance, according to the Springfield Eugene Tenant Association (SETA), residents could see application fees as high as $75.

Oregon DesiFest was founded by Anil Oommen in October 2023 to celebrate the South Asian diaspora, as well as educate about South Asian history in Oregon in the Pacific NW. We also advocate for the those who are deemed invisible by dominant narratives that focus on the "model minority" and discrimination of those experiencing caste oppression. We want to make visible our presence in the Pacific NW (particularly Oregon) through the arts and humanities.

South Indian feast, local/regional performance artists (dance, music, storytelling), Chai & Chaat, art experience, and mendhi/henna available throughout the afternoon.

WHEN: Thursday, October 10, doors open at 6pm, starts at 7pm
WHERE: Lane County Fairgrounds, Convention Center Meeting Room #1

Tish Hinojosa, the internationally renowned Tejana singer-songwriter, will be in Eugene on Thursday, October 10th with her trio to perform a benefit concert for PCUN (Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste), Oregon’s farm workers’ union.

PCUN (Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste), based in Woodburn, is the largest Latino organization in the state. Its goal is to empower Oregon’s farm workers to secure better working and living conditions for themselves and their families.

Admission is FREE, with donations requested.

The application deadline for the new Summer EBT program has been extended to midnight on Sept. 30, 2024. The program offers $120 per child to help cover grocery costs when school food programs are not as easy to access. Eligible families should act now.

This website is intended to help those in our community seeking shelter either for themselves, or for someone else, know what shelters have beds available on a given night and what criteria there are for accessing those shelters.

Those accessing the site can filter through the shelters based on unique needs and be pointed in the direction of those shelters that best meet those needs. Additionally, by clicking on the bed icons located on the embedded map, site visitors can see information about the shelters including pictures, intake information, what they can expect when accessing and other important details.
