Join a fun-filled evening of connection and celebration at the Communities of Color and Allies Network (CCAN) First Friday! All are welcome at this all-ages event with free food, networking opportunities, puzzles and games. Hosted in collaboration with Springfield Public Schools and Springfield Utility Board, with special guests from Catholic Charities. Bring your family and loved ones to connect with others in a relaxing, safe space where you can make new friends and build meaningful relationships.

DETAILS: Singers ages 11 – 18

Introducing our newest vocal ensemble, RISE: an intentionally queer singing space for teens, with a centered aim to cultivate belonging, connection and community for all participants.

Students will learn to use singing as a tool for nervous system regulation, freedom of expression, and developing healthy relationships with peers — all while learning challenging contemporary a cappella music with a social conscience. Queer, trans & gender expansive youth of non-dominant ethnic / racial / cultural backgrounds, abilities / learning styles, and other marginalized identities are strongly encouraged to apply.
