The Fair Housing for All legislation, now under ORS 90.303, prohibits landlords from rejecting rental applicants based on their immigration or citizenship status. Supporters say this bill safeguards vulnerable renters who may face discrimination or threats of deportation for reporting problems with their living situation.

Under SB 599, a landlord may not inquire about, or disclose with intent to harm, a tenant or applicant’s immigration or citizenship status.
Additionally, a landlord must accept a wider range of documentation, or a combination thereof, to verify the name, date of birth, and physical appearance of the Applicant. The Fair Housing Council of Oregon provides a a list of other alternative documents<https://fhco.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=972fec413cac24baf355a7809&id=38f711a884&e=9c4638ea78> an applicant can use to establish their identity.

Many have asked how changes at the federal level may affect Oregon. Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) are following the changes and have created webpages for the public that will show any important changes.

At this time, there are no changes to Oregon Health Plan (OHP/Medicaid), SNAP, TANF or employment-related day care benefits. People should keep their appointments and seek health care as usual. People who have SNAP and TANF will get their regular monthly benefits.

This website is intended to help those in our community seeking shelter either for themselves, or for someone else, know what shelters have beds available on a given night and what criteria there are for accessing those shelters.

Those accessing the site can filter through the shelters based on unique needs and be pointed in the direction of those shelters that best meet those needs. Additionally, by clicking on the bed icons located on the embedded map, site visitors can see information about the shelters including pictures, intake information, what they can expect when accessing and other important details.
