[cid:image049.png at 01DB927B.3E1F8F50]New tax credit for individuals and families: The Oregon Kids Credit
A reminder that’s there’s a new tax credit for individuals and families that make less than $30,000 per year and have children under the age of six.
The Oregon Kids Credit took effect in 2023. Families with incomes between $0 and $25,000 can receive $1,000 per child under age six. Families making between $25,000 and $30,000 are still eligible, but the credit phases out until it reaches zero at $30,000 of income.
You do not need taxable income to receive the credit, though the child must be your dependent. If you are eligible and did not file for the credit last year, it’s not too late to file a return to receive the credit for 2023, as well.
Dial 2-1-1 or visit one of the websites above for free in-person tax preparation assistance. You can also visit https://www.oregon.gov/dor/programs/individuals/Pages/get-free-tax-help.aspx
