Eugene Public Library welcomes the nonpartisan League of Women Voters of Lane County @lwvlanecty for a series of free, drop-in voter education events this spring.

Remaining Elections 101 workshops:

✅Bethel Branch: Fri., May 8, 4:30 p.m.

Learn unbiased, helpful information about elections and voting. Topics will include the different kinds of elections, how to find and evaluate reliable information about candidates and ballot measures, how to recognize mis- and dis-information, and the role of AI in elections. Questions welcome!

The Siuslaw Community Stand down is a day where many volunteers and organizations will make the effort to care for and help homeless and at risk people, with an emphasis on the US Veteran population. Many agencies will come together to help with five areas of health. Dentists, barbers, medical, mental health, and social workers will be onsite to help relieve some of the burdens that can cause a person’s sense of well-being to break down. At-risk persons can come to the event, have breakfast, get a haircut, speak with counselors, find clean clothes, speak with employment counselors, get dental cleanings and checkups, and more. Guests can meet in person with local western Lane agencies, Lane County agencies, and Veterans Administration services. Join Ujamaa Community Empowerment Network, a local, Black-founded org, for free to learn how to work well with the money you have. This course covers debt reduction, budgeting and savings for big purchases like cars, homes, businesses, retirement, and real estate. Class includes free:

  *   $200 gift certificate for attending all 5 classes in person

The Glimmer Camp Spring CampOut is an affirming, multi-generational group campout for LGBTQ2S+ adults. Cost is on a sliding scale ($100-$200) and includes a spot in a group campsite, all activities and supplies, and more. For our winter market-goers you may have already seen our new currency. As farmers markets begin to open throughout Oregon this spring, you'll see a lot more of the 2026 currency at Double Up participating farmers markets.  Double Up Food Bucks 2026 currency expires 12/31/2026.

2025 Double Up Food Bucks are expired and can no longer be redeemed. SNAP wooden tokens acquired last year can still be redeemed as they do not expire.

The Regional Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program (RHRP) is a home repair loan program for people living in small cities and unincorporated areas of Lane County. The program provides financial assistance for health and safety repairs so that people can live safely in their homes. To receive housing assistance through RHRP, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  *   They must occupy and own the home and land to be rehabilitated.
  *   The property must be within a target area served by the current grant.
  *   The property must meet minimum standards and have a clear title.
  *   Homeowners must have household incomes at or below 80% of the federal median income.

If you need help covering the costs of a security deposit for you new home, Community Lending Works, in partnership with Homes for Good, may be able to help. We are now offering loans to help individuals and families who utilize Homes for Good’s Housing Choice Voucher, VASH, Project Based Section 8, or Mainstream programs to cover one of the biggest moving expenses, the rental security deposit. Note: Due to funds being limited, loans may not be available. The Lane County 2026 Community Needs Survey is now live! This survey is meant to take 10 – 15 minutes to complete and asks about services such as housing, shelter, services for low-income housed & unhoused community members, education, employment, transportation, and health. Respondents will be asked to choose which service is most important to them and then answer subsequent questions about that area. Then, they will have an option to choose a second most important services are to answer questions about as well. The survey will also ask demographic questions to help us understand the community better. Raven is a peer-led nonprofit collective offering low-barrier, non-coercive support, survival supplies, information, and referrals to unhoused and marginalized people in Eugene. Grounded in harm reduction, mutual aid, and trauma-informed care, we meet people where they are – on the street, in crisis, or navigating systems – with compassion and dignity. We will provide phone charging, information, referral, and limited supplies. Schedule Below:

Oregon Senate Bill 829, introduced during the 2025 legislative session, includes several policy interventions aimed at mitigating and stabilizing insurance costs for affordable housing providers and emergency shelter operators. The program makes the following entities eligible:

  *   Affordable housing provider
  *   Project Turnkey site
  *   Navigation Center
  *   Local government entity

Entities must currently operate in Oregon a provide affordable housing or shelter services to individuals or families earning at or below 80% of the area median income (AMI). It’s time again for the Food for Lane County’s Community Survey. This anonymous bi-annual survey seeks feedback from our community to help us understand how and why folks are accessing food assistance, and for those who aren’t but who might need support, discover how we can remove obstacles and better serve a broader population. This year, we’ve partnered with the University of Oregon’s School of Planning, Public Policy and Management to administer the survey and supercharge our ability to process the data with a dedicated team behind it. We are hoping you can help us spread the word!

On February 9, 2026, the Eugene City Council approved Resolution 5474<https://eugene.municipal.codes/enactments/Res5474> declaring a humanitarian crisis and providing direction to staff related to support for immigrant families impacted by recent immigration enforcement actions.

City Council also reserved $50,000 in contingency funds to be made available for nonprofit organizations that support local immigrant families.  Funds can be used to support immediate needs such as housing, food, transportation, health needs, childcare, and education. Submissions will be accepted from eligible organizations on a rolling basis. The Human Rights Commission (HRC) will evaluate applications and decide on grant allocation.



Eligibility criteria

1 - Be a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization serving Eugene residents.

2 - Demonstrated experience serving immigrant families or communities affected by immigration enforcement.

3 - Established financial disbursement, management system, and internal controls.

4 - Ability to verify client eligibility.



Eligible organizations can submit a special grant application<https://www.eugene-or.gov/FormCenter/Equity-and-Community-Engagement-6/Special-Human-Rights-Grants-732> to be reviewed by the HRC.

Some properties offer units where the rent amount is based on your income, while others offer units at a fixed, reduced rate that is lower than the current market rent. This website is intended to help those in our community seeking shelter either for themselves, or for someone else, know what shelters have beds available on a given night and what criteria there are for accessing those shelters.
