[Currdir] Invitation to Nominate Social Studies Teachers for Award

The Oregon Council for the Social Studies is giving the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award (four total) at the annual conference on Saturday, October 1, 2011.  This is to be held at Concordia University.  Currently there are several high school educators nominated, but no elementary or middle school teachers!  There are so many wonderful educators who deserve to be recognized, so the deadline for nominations has been extended one week.
Will you please consider your staff and nominate someone (or two!) from your building?  If you are not a member of the OCSS, which you must be in order to nominate someone, the fee is only $20 (http://www.oregonsocialstudies.org/pdf/OCSSMembershipForm.pdf ).
