Dear Agency Security Officers,
Back in July, I sent an email letting you know about the upcoming new query tool called 'OBIEE' or 'OB1'. This application is here to replace Hyperion as the State's main query tool.
OBIEE went live in August 2020. We are continuing to complete our rollout process which allows identified agencies to start using the product. This rollout spans a four month period.
The OBIEE application has been set up with a new type of security access. Users are input on a 'Shared Active Directory' or 'Shared AD'. A user must be included in the Shared AD, prior to obtaining security access to the product. This access is a critical piece of the process to fully set up your Datamart users with OBIEE access.
The Datamart team asks that all ASO confirm with your IT department and determine what the status is of your agency and being included in the Shared AD. If your agency is currently not set up in the Shared AD, then your IT department will need to work with Dewayne Weaver's unit (DAS DCS) to obtain proper access.
Thanks for your patience and understanding with this new process.

Subject: Agency Security Officers (query tool)
Agency Security Officers,
The Datamart team has been hard at work to implement a new business Intelligence query tool to replace Hyperion. We are officially going live with the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE or OB1) application on 8/01/2020. I want to make sure you are aware of the new security process. It is documented on both the Datamart<https://www.oregon.gov/das/Financial/AcctgSys/Pages/datamart.aspx> and SARS<https://www.oregon.gov/das/Financial/Acctng/Pages/Syst-security.aspx> System Security websites.
The rollout process will be slow as we plan to roll out only a few agencies and then add more on a monthly basis (Datamart news list email coming soon).
Here is the breakdown of agency rollout the Datamart team has approved.
1. Agy 107, 123, 440, & 629: Starting 8/01/20
2. Agy 100 - 291: Starting 9/01/20
3. Agy 292 - 471: Starting 10/01/20
4. Agy 472 - 999: Starting 11/01/20
To clarify, there are two new OBIEE documents on the sites. One is the overall security process created for ASO's and the other is an OBIEE security request (Excel) document required by System Security. Please review these documents as soon as possible.
This new tool is web based and a user log in with a 'Shared AD' type of access. Each agency has a 'Shared AD' team that may need to be contacted in order for the user to be fully set up. Please review who is the Shared AD team contact for your agency.
Please alert the new users that training is required once they obtain access. There will be training classes coming soon. In addition, we are working on an iLearn training, which should come out soon as well.
Thanks for your patience and understanding,
Aaron Wallace
