Hi Everyone,

I've attached some information I received about a memorial that is being planned for October 3rd in memory of domestic violence victims.  It will take place on the Capital steps.

Brandy Pokovich is the woman organizing this event.  Her mother, Angela Walker, was murdered by her boyfriend in 1998.  Brandy was young at the time of the murder and has for several years now talked about wanting to do something in her mother's memory.

Kim Larson, the director of the Marion County Victim Assistance Program, sent me this information and I said that I would be happy to spread the word about the event with the hope that people will attend and join Brandy in remembering victims of domestic violence.

(Ms. Pokovich is selling t-shirts both to try to make a visual statement as well as wanting to donate proceeds to Victim Assistance.  I am not at all trying to promote that you buy a shirt, but I am hopeful that you will come and show support for her efforts to remember those who have lost their lives as a result of domestic violence.)
