[DV_listserv] Important Reminder--Legal Representation for victims in Marion and Multnomah counties

[Domestic Violence issues]

The Oregon Crime Victims Law Center now has the ability to help victims of domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking in civil protective order cases in Marion and Multnomah Counties.

To be eligible, the victim must be:

- at least 13 years old
- a victim of DV, SA, stalking
- a petitioner in a protective order case in Marion or Multnomah County

All protective order types are eligible (SAPO, FAPA, EDAPPA, Stalking Orders). A victim does not need to be involved in a criminal case to be eligible.

ALSO: OCVLC continues to also offer legal services to all types of crime victims statewide who are seeking help with their crime victim rights in a criminal case. We are happy to assist crime victims with multiple legal issues (for example: a sexual assault victim who has reported to police and also filed for a SAPO, or a domestic violence victim who is a victim in an open criminal case and also has a contested FAPA hearing coming up).

If you would like to refer a victim to us, please feel free to call ahead of time to discuss the case and how we may be able to help. We can also provide technical advice regarding crime victims' rights issues in criminal cases.
