Recently, a video surfaced which showed Oklahoma star football player, Joe Mixon, punching a woman (non-DV incident) in a bar, breaking several bones in her face. Her injuries required surgery and it was months before she regained feeling on one side of her face. While the incident wasn't DV, it reignited a conversation about how violence against women is tolerated in both college and professional athletics.
