Good Morning!

Thank you very much to all of you who've already signed up for this Summer's ODAA DV training-we have close to 100 people already registered!

We still have about 20 spots open to prosecutors and a few spots still open for "other" professionals who work with and within the criminal justice system on DV-related issues. We have A LOT of spots still available for officers.

This is a fantastic opportunity to hear a critically important (and really interesting) presentation from a fantastic expert. I'd love to have as many law enforcement in the room as possible-feel free to forward this announcement to those who may not be on the listserve and please encourage your law enforcement colleagues to attend.

Thanks!

Subject: [DV_listserv] Trauma-Literate Investigation/Prosecution Training at DV section of ODAA Summer Conference--REGISTRATION is now OPEN!

HELLO!

A reminder that REGISTRATION for the Domestic Violence training at the Oregon District Attorneys Association (ODAA) Summer conference is now OPEN. Spaces are limited so please register as soon as possible. Registration is FREE and includes materials and refreshments. NOTE: There is a $50 OPOA administrative fee for law enforcement attendees.

The topic of this year's training on August 17th in Bend, Oregon will be:

"Understanding the Neurobiology of Trauma: Improving Your Case And A Victim's Experience With the Criminal Justice System"

We've tackled aspects of this topic before, but this training will be different: It will offer new information, tips on practical application, and interactive exercises to really absorb the trauma-informed techniques that will help you and the victims and survivors you work with!

Who should attend:

* Historically, the DV training at Summer ODAA is exclusively for prosecutors. However, due to a fantastic collaboration with the Oregon Peace Officer's Association (OPOA), we are able to accommodate attendance for up to 100 law enforcement officers. Law Enforcement: Your registration will be handled by OPOA. The registration link is available on the attached training announcement.

* Prosecutors/Advocates (system AND community-based)/Community Corrections/Others: Please see the attached registration materials for details on how YOU can register!

IMPORTANT

* We have 70 spaces available for prosecutors at this training. However, we only have FORTY lodging scholarships. In an effort to facilitate attendance by as many counties as possible, the first two attendees from a respective county will be awarded the lodging scholarship for that county. If there are lodging scholarships available after the initial registration process has been completed, additional attendees from already-attending counties may be granted surplus lodging. If you are awarded a lodging scholarship, please do NOT make your own lodging arrangements: A block of hotel rooms has already been reserved for this event.

* We have 30 spaces for advocates/community corrections/other professionals. Unfortunately, the lodging scholarships are only available for prosecutors.

Finally, a confirmation letter and conference agenda will be sent to you shortly after your registration is complete.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Thank you,

Erin
