The 2017 Pulitzer prize winners  for journalism were announced this afternoon. The Salt Lake Tribune won "for a string of vivid reports revealing the perverse, punitive and cruel treatment given to sexual assault victims at Brigham Young University, one of Utah's most powerful institutions."

Last year, ProPublica and The Marshall Project won "for a startling examination and exposé of law enforcement's enduring failures to investigate reports of rape properly and to comprehend the traumatic effects on its victims."
