Domestic Violence issues dv_listserv at listsmart.osl.state.or.us

Hello and Happy Monday!

I'm writing to let you know that that my last day at DOJ as the DVRP will be June 29th. I'm confident that in the next three months, DOJ/CJD will recruit and hire an extremely qualified candidate to take over the DVRP position. Given all of the wonderfully talented prosecutors across the state, I'm excited about the DVRP program's next chapter!

(DOJ will be releasing the DVRP job announcement soon-so, if you're interested, please apply! If you have questions for me about the position, don't hesitate to ask!)

I want to thank each of you VERY MUCH for your support of the DVRP and of me, personally. I've been a prosecutor for nearly 20 years, including time spent as a line prosecutor in both Marion and Yamhill counties before coming to the Criminal Justice Division. It has been a great honor to call myself a prosecutor. I've especially enjoyed these last eight years as the state's first DVRP working with and getting to know so many gifted, capable, and wonderful professionals across so many disciplines---prosecutors, advocates (all of you!), law enforcement officers, civil/legal aid attorneys, social workers, tribal nation representatives, SANEs, and more!

As most of you know, prior to 2010 the DVRP position did not exist. There were no annual, in-state Domestic Violence trainings for prosecutors-no "DV Boot Camp," or "DV Day" at Summer ODAA. My goal coming into the position was to improve the criminal justice system's response to Domestic Violence by developing resources, trainings, and capacity among prosecutors, law enforcement, advocates, and other community partners. I'm proud to say that, in eight years, the DVRP program has gone from non-existent to one that is successful, sustainable, and heavily relied upon.

I'm truly excited about what the next DVRP can do with the program. And I know that, like I, s/he/they will enjoy your support.

Appreciatively,

Erin
