The Victim Rights Law Center (VRLC) is a nonprofit law center that provides free legal services to sexual assault survivors in Oregon and Massachusetts, and national training and support for lawyers, advocates, and other victim service providers. The VRLC's mission is to provide legal representation to survivors of rape and sexual assault to help rebuild their lives; and to promote a national movement committed to seeking justice for every rape and sexual assault victim. Job Description:
VRLC seeks a Managing Attorney for our Portland, Oregon, office to inspire our team and help us strengthen and expand the success of our current legal services programs. The ideal candidate will have strong management and supervision experience, work ethic, and leadership skills; creativity, passion, and compassion; courtroom and litigation experience; and a demonstrated commitment to working with survivors from underserved communities.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise the 6-8 person direct legal services team in VRLC's Oregon office
* Consistent with experience and training, represent sexual assault survivors on safety, privacy, education, employment, immigration, housing, financial, and/or criminal justice advocacy matters,
* Provide mentoring, skill building, and leadership to promote staff growth, team cohesion, and individual professional development
* Lead effective outreach efforts and promote access to VRLC services, especially among
under-served communities
* Help administer state and federal grants including collecting data, reporting, and ensuring
grant deliverables are met
* Collaborate with VRLC community partners and allied organizations
* Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum of 7 years legal experience; at least 3 years as a practicing attorney
* Current member in good standing or eligible to waive into the Oregon State Bar
* Courtroom and litigation experience
* Demonstrated success managing and leading a team of attorneys and support staff
* Commitment to providing trauma-informed, survivor-centered services
* Desire to help VRLC build a culturally diverse and inclusive work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with sexual assault survivors or other survivors of crime or vulnerable populations
* Demonstrated commitment to engaging in outreach and providing services to under-served communities
* Experience managing state or federal grants
* Valid driver's license, good driving record, and comfort with driving throughout the state
* Speak a language other than English to serve VRLC clients

Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000 depending on experience

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Maternal and Child Health section<https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/HEALTHYPEOPLEFAMILIES/WOMEN/Pages/sexual_violence_prevention.aspx#rpe> in Portland, OR is recruiting for a Rape Prevention Education (RPE) Coordinator to provide oversight of new program activities at the community level. The Women's Health Program in the Oregon Public Health Division supports sexual violence prevention in Oregon by: administering rape prevention and education (RPE) funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and by participating on a statewide sexual violence prevention planning committee to implement recommendations to prevent sexual violence in Oregon.
What will you do?
As the Rape Prevention Education Coordinator, you will plan, implement, evaluate, and forge new collaborations and partnerships with workplaces, institutions, and communities statewide to identify and implement change, based on the best available evidence. You will also provide expert training and technical assistance to RPE funded organizations and partners to implement sexual violence prevention strategies. This position will assist the OHA Maternal and Child Health Section and Center for Prevention and Health Promotion to provide leadership and strengthen the state and local maternal and child health systems.
In this position, you will develop policy, coordinate the program, perform quality improvement, and provide consultative advice and evaluation expertise both internally to PHD staff and externally to other state agencies, local domestic violence agencies, and community-based organizations. This position makes recommendations to section and center management regarding policy and program needs and modifications and develops guidelines and standards for program implementation and operations. The position works across the center, with primary responsibility to the Maternal and Child Health Section.
