 *   FY 2007 – FY 2009 Funding Status.  Wave 73 for FY 2007 will be released on January 13th.  Wave 35 for FY 2008 is expected to be released the following week.  The FY 2009 application window closes February 12th.
 *   Eligible Services List Clarifications.  FCC inaction on USAC’s proposed ESL clarifications for FY 2009 should not be interpreted as a rejection of those changes.  In particular, the SLD will treat e-mail archiving, Intranet Web hosting, video-on-demand servers (excluding CODECs), and VoIP handsets as ineligible.  Additionally, VoIP controllers cannot be considered as Priority 1 on-premise equipment.


 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.  Key upcoming dates include the non-recurring invoice deadline for FY 2007 (January 28th), Form 470 deadline for FY 2009 (January 15th), and Form 471 deadline for FY 2009 (February 12th).  The SLD’s online Two-in-Five Tool must be used with care.  A recent FCC appeal highlights the administrative problem faced by small E-rate applicants.


 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief Dated January 9th.   The SLD’s most recent News Brief discusses information that should be collected or checked before filing a Form 471.
