See the attached newsletter for articles on:
* FY 2008 – FY 2009 Funding Status. Wave 12 for FY 2009 and Wave 60 for FY 2008 will both be released this week. Pending an FCC decision on roll-over funding, FY 2009 funding is still Priority 1 only. Priority 2 funding at 87% for FY 2008 is still undetermined.
* CIPA Compliance Requirements. In light of increased CIPA compliance checks by both USAC and auditors, it is becoming clear that many applicants are having trouble documenting that filtering occurred during previous years and that Internet Safety Policies were adopted as the result of public notices and hearings.
* E-Rate Updates and Reminders. Three of the eight SLD workshops scheduled for this fall are already fully subscribed. Applicants who did not get expiring technology plans updated and re-approved by July 1 should do so ASAP and should not file Form 486s until their plans are approved.
* Schools and Libraries News Brief dated July 10th – Recurring Service Invoicing. The SLD reviewed six topics related to BEAR and SPI invoicing for recurring services received during FY 2008.
