 *   FY 2009 and FY 2008 Funding Status.  Wave 2 for FY 2009 is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5th..  Wave 50 for FY 2008 will be released on May 6th.
 *   GAO E-Rate Report.  The GAO released a report to Congress on the E-rate program focusing on: (a) undisbursed funds; (b) applicant participation; and (c) the lack of FCC performance goals.
 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.  Eligibility Guidelines for free meals for 2009-2010 are available.  The SLD has sent a draft ESL for FY 2010 to the FCC for review. President Obama is planning to nominate Mignon Clyburn to one of the vacant FCC Commissioner slots.  Solix, the contractor for program operations, has received a contract extension through at least 6/30/2010.
 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief Dated May 1st.  The SLD’s most recent News Brief discusses training schedules for service providers (this month) and applicants (next fall), and reviews the changes to the SLD’s SPIN Contact Search tool (covered in our April 13th newsletter).
