There are still several districts that have not submitted their Technology Plans for 09-12. If you have not yet submitted your plan, please do so as soon as possible by sending it to ode.techplans at state.or.us<mailto:ode.techplans at state.or.us>. Formal correspondence will be going out to the missing districts’ Superintendents by the end of the week. If your district does not plan to participate in e-Rate or Ed-Tech Title IID, send an email to that same address clearly stating such, and include your name, title, and contact information.
See the attached newsletter for articles on:
* FY 2007-- FY 2009 Funding Status. Three waves, one each for FY 2007 – FY 2009 will be released this week. Wave 80 for FY 2008 will be the last regular wave.
* 100% Funding Utilization. One or more telephone auditing firms have reportedly been approaching E-rate applicants suggesting that with less than 100% funds utilization, money is being left on the table. In fact, there are several valid reasons that 100% of E‑rate funding is not always used, and reasons that 100% utilization may be problematic.
* E-Rate Updates and Reminders. Applicants with technology plan approvals expiring June 30, 2009, must have updated plans approved by this date. A few applicants have been sent unrequested invoice deadline extensions for FY 2005. Training material for recent service provider workshops is available online. The SLD has released the first Form 470 RNLs, for FY 2010
* Schools and Libraries News Brief Dated May 8th. The SLD’s most recent News Brief is the first in a series on Selective Reviews.
