 *   FY 2008 and FY 2009 Funding Status.  Wave 25 for FY 2009 and Wave 71 for FY 2008 will be issued this week.  Although there is no change in Priority 2 funding for either year in these waves, the SLD is considering lowering the FY 2009 threshold to 80% in the near future.
 *   New FCC Appeal in Inquiry Actions.  Last week, the FCC released nine E-rate appeal orders, requested comments on two petitions for reconsideration of previous denials, and issued formal inquiries on net neutrality and on protecting children in an “evolving media landscape.”
 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.  As discussed in the last SLD News Brief, October 28th and 29th are key program deadlines.  The SLD has completed its eight fall workshops.
 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief dated October 9th.   Last week’s News Brief reviews the rules for equipment transfers and disposal.
