ANNOUNCEMENT – Starting October 21st, I will be performing maintenance on the e-Rate pages located at the Oregon Department of Education website. Historical data will be preserved, but may be difficult to access during the maintenance. The resulting pages should have up-to-date information and be easier to navigate.  *   FY 2008 and FY 2009 Funding Status.  As a result of the SLD’s IT upgrade, no regular funding waves for either FY 2008 or FY 2009 will be released this week.  The SLD informally projected that Priority 2 funding for FY 2009 would reach below 80%
 *   SLD Fall E-Rate Training – Part 1.  The SLD’s fall training commenced last week with beginners, special topics, and advanced tracks.  This is the first in a series of articles reviewing this training.
 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.  The next two of the SLD’s eight fall workshops will be held this week.  Two new individuals have been appointed to the USAC Board.
 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief dated September 25th.  Last week’s News Brief provides service provider tips for addressing FY 2008 and FY 2009 funding before the opening of the FY 2010 application window (several of which apply to applicants as well).
