 *   Funding Status. Funding Wave 50 for FY 2009 will be released this week. The first funding wave for FY 2010 is still awaiting FCC approval.
 *   National Broadband Plan/E-rate Update.  The FCC issued the first of a series of NOIs and NPRMs for the implementation of the National Broadband Plan.  This first step only affects E-rate indirectly.
 *   Review Procedures for State-Funded Consortium Applications.  The SLD’s new PIA review procedures for consortium applications promises to accelerate the awards for state-funded networks.
 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.  Information is available on Internet searches by children.  Century Tel and Qwest have agreed to merge.  Reply comments have been received on the FCC’s proposed rules on community use of school Internet facilities.  Technology plan approvals expiring June 30 must be re-approved by July 1.
 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief dated April 123 – Operational SPIN Changes.  Discusses “operational” — as opposed to “corrective” — SPIN changes.
