See the attached newsletter for articles on:
* Funding Status. Wave 7 for FY 2010 and Wave 59 for FY 2009 will be released this week. The FCC has rolled over an additional $900 million of funding for FY 2010; Priority2 funding should commence shortly and ultimately reach 80% or lower.
* Proposed Form 470/471 Revisions. Revisions — probably interim if NPRM proposals are implemented — to Form 470 and Form 471 have been released for comment by the FCC.
* FCC NPRM on E-Rate Program Revisions – Competitive Bidding. The E-rate NPRM proposes to codify existing procurement requirements and to provide strict illustrative guidelines of prohibited activities.
* E-Rate Updates and Reminders. E-rate NPRM comments are due July 9. Web hosting companies have begun a lobbying effort to counter an FCC proposal to make their services ineligible. The online version of Form 470 has been updated for FY 2011. Google’s relocation of its encrypted search feature will make CIPA compliance easier.
* Schools and Libraries News Brief dated July 2 – Online Form 486 Tips. The SLD lists and discusses seven tips for filing Form 486s.
