 *   Funding Status. Wave 2 for FY 2010 and Wave 55 for FY 2009 will be released this week.
 *   FCC NPRM on E-Rate Program Revisions: Timing and Public Comment Issues.  Only a subset of the FCC’s proposed changes to the E-rate program are likely to be implemented for FY 2010.  Implementation timing will be impacted by at least three other public comments proceedings (and possible legislative activities).
 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.
    *   The FCC denied 104 requests for waivers of the 60-day appeal deadline requirement.
    *   A recent speech by the FCC’s Chairman stressed the Commission’s broadband and education goals.
    *   The SLD’s eight fall training sessions are already starting to fill up.
 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief dated May 28 – Summer Contact Procedures.  The SLD institute its summer contact procedures last Friday.  They will remain in effect until September 10th.
