 *   Funding Status. Wave 3 for FY 2010 and Wave 56 for FY 2009 will be released this week.
 *   FCC NPRM on E-Rate Program Revisions: Procurement Simplification.  The NPRM proposes to streamline the application process for certain applicants — including most public school districts — by eliminating the need to file Form 470s for Priority 1 services if procurement procedures are governed by state or local requirements.  Whether this will simplify the E-rate process or not would depend upon how related application review procedures are implemented
 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.
    *    In sharp contrast to an appeal decision issued the previous week, the FCC approved 49 appeals related to missed invoice deadlines.
    *   EFT payments to service providers for BEAR and SPI invoices will become mandatory as of August 31st.
    *   A GAO sting operation on Head Starts may have repercussions for Head Start E‑rate applicants.
    *   The SLD’s eight fall training sessions are already starting to fill up.
 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief dated June 4– Early Form 486s.  Subject to certain conditions, Form 486s for FY 2010 may be filed before July 1st.
