  *   Funding Status.  Funding waves for, FY 2012 and FY 2013 are scheduled this week.
  *   E-Rate 2.0 NPRM - Maximizing Cost-Effectiveness.  The FCC's new NPRM requests comments on a broad range of approaches for meeting its number two goal of maximizing the cost-effectiveness of purchased services.  Several of the approaches being considered would substantial expand the federal role in school and library procurement activities.
  *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.    The revised online SPI is now available for use; the revised online BEAR will be ready in 1-2 weeks.  Four FCC notices are out for comment. USAC releases 4Q13 funds projections.  Two multi-applicant FCC appeal decisions were published last week.  The Justice Department settled a false claims allegation with a Texas businessman
  *   SLD News Brief Dated August 9.  The SLD's latest News Brief reviews Consultant Registration Numbers.
