[Erate] Great News! Sent on bahalf of Pat Middelburg and DAS

Greetings:
In 2005 the State of Oregon Department of Administrative Services filed an e-rate application on behalf of schools and libraries who had purchased their telecommunications services off of the state master contract.  At that time, the application was denied.  We immediately appealed the decision to the FCC and finally the FCC approved our appeal.   That lead to a very lengthy re-review of our 2005 application and finally awarding the refunds.  I am pleased to report that the requests for those refunds have been sent to the DAS business office and over the next few weeks, checks will be issued to participating schools and libraries.  I am sorry it took so long to reimburse the entities for their 2005-2006 expenses, but I pleased that the federal agency approved the State's application.
