* Funding Status. The FY 2013 application window closed March 14th; and the review of applications is underway. No date has yet been set for the first funding wave. Funding waves are scheduled this week for FY 2011 and FY 2012.
* Priority 2 Funding Outlook for FY 2013, cont. Further analysis of the preliminary demand estimates for FY 2013 suggest that at least $1.5-1.6 billion in roll-over funding - an unprecedented level - may be required to fully fund Priority 2 discounts at the 90% level.
* E-Rate Updates and Reminders. The final deadline for submitting missing FY 2013 application certifications and Item 21 attachments is May15th. The SLD announced its fall schedule for regional applicant training. President Obama nominated Tom Wheeler to be the new FCC Chairman. Certain search functions on the SLD Website must be accessed in compatibility mode when using Internet Explorer 10. Congressman Markey, the key supporter of E-rate legislation in the House in 1996 is running for the Senate. Recent FCC appeal decisions rejected requests by two school districts to overturn USAC denials based on competitive bidding violations.
* SLD News Brief for April 26 - FY 2013 Application Deadlines. The latest News Brief reviews the procedures for submitting missing certifications and Item 21 attachments.
