New Overdose Prevention Information and Listening Session

New Senior Project Coordinator

Overdose Prevention Information & Listening Session

The state team and OHA Public Health, Injury and Violence Prevention Program, want to extend gratitude to everyone who participated in the recent Overdose Prevention Information and Listening Session on October 31st, 2023. Your engagement and contributions were invaluable to the discussion, and your insights are crucial in addressing the pressing conversations related to overdose prevention in Oregon communities.

As promised during the session, I am reaching out to share the resources identified during the session:

  *   Regional Overdose Prevention Coordinators are a resource for overdose prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and overdose emergency response planning within a designated county or region (see Slide 5 in the attached presentation for a list of Regional Overdose Prevention Coordinators and their contact information).
  *   Contact Courtney Fultineer at courtney.fultineer at oha.oregon.gov<mailto:courtney.fultineer at oha.oregon.gov> to receive an informal weekly newsletter with updates and resources related to overdose prevention or to request county specific overdose data
  *   Organizations may access toolkits with communication tools and educational materials from Save Lives Oregon and their Harm Reduction Clearinghouse at www.savelivesoregon.org<http://www.savelivesoregon.org/>
     *   Organizations across the state who serve people at high risk, may also access no cost supplies from the Harm Reduction Clearinghouse. Supplies may include:
        *   Overdose prevention supplies such as naloxone
        *   Wound care supplies
        *   Safer use supplies for people who use drugs
        *   Personal sharps containers

Senior Project Coordinator

The National Center for Fatality Review and Prevention is growing and adding a Senior Project Coordinator to work primarily with CDR teams throughout the United States. The Senior Project Coordinator position leads fatality review collaboration projects at the Center for National Prevention Initiatives (CNPI). The position requires expertise in state fatality review systems, coordination of multiple review systems, and fatality review data collection. Additionally, this position provides extensive technical assistance and support to state and local fatality review programs. The Senior Project Coordinator also acts as a liaison between community partnerships, public and private agencies, and MPHI.
