OGIC Members and stakeholders :
As you know, the state is again expected to face tough budget times in
the 2011-13 biennium (in particular for those programs that receive
General Fund directly or indirectly through assessments to General Fund
agencies). Internally, DAS Divisions have been asked to prepare budget
reduction options for 2011-13 at the 5%, 10% and 25% level. It is
important to note that these are budget reduction options for
consideration by DAS leadership and others as the budget development
process progresses over the next year or so.
The DAS Enterprise Information Strategy and Policy Division
(www.oregon.gov/das/eispd) is comprised of four primary program areas
(sections): E-Government Program (e-Gov), Enterprise Security Office
(ESO), Geospatial Enterprise Office (GEO), and the Information
Technology and Planning (ITIP) section. As we assess what program
budget reduction options we expect to propose, we'd like to know which
functions you highly value and would want to be retained and which
functions you value least and would recommend reducing assuming budget
reductions become necessary. To that end, we've constructed a survey
and ask for your input by 5:00PM on April 22nd.
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/9JBXQ6K
The survey asks for your "value assessment" on a scale of 1 (low) to 5
(high). As each section provides a variety of services/functions to a
wide array of customers, it is likely that you may not be a
user/customer of each section's services/functions. If that is the
case, please select N/A for that service/function. To ensure we receive
the broadest input possible, we will be sending a similar email and link
to the survey to other governing/advisory bodies (e.g. OGIC,
E-Government Advisory Board, Enterprise Information Security Advisory
Board, OGIC, etc.) with whom we work.
Again, please complete the survey by 5:00PM on April 22nd. Our
apologies for the tight timeframe for response. If you have questions
about the survey, please contact:
